Barry Perez has served New Covenant Church as Senior Pastor since 2002. His team approach has allowed for great diversity of ministry opportunities for members and friends of New Covenant Church.
Pastor Barry and his wife, Jan, have been married since 1967. They have three married children and eight grandchildren.
In 1974, Pastor Barry started a career in ministry. He is a graduate of the University of Tampa with a Bachelors of Science degree. He went on to receive a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary.
Under Pastor Perez’s leadership, New Covenant seeks to be a church that is both Spirit led and purpose driven.
Mike Caulley
Administrative Pastor
Mike retired from the business world in 1998, having previously worked as a CPA and controller for several businesses. After a short retirement period, he joined New Covenant Church in 1999 to primarily handle the administrative and business affairs of the church. Mike also serves as the Missions Pastor for the church overseeing the missions (foreign and domestic) supported by 20% of the church’s tithes and offerings.
Mike and his wife, Wendy, have been married since 1966 and have three adult sons and seven grandchildren.
Wendy Caulley
Pastoral Care Minister
Wendy is the Pastoral Care Minister. Wendy Caulley and her husband Mike have been on staff at New Covenant Church since 1999. She has taught Sunday School, Children’s Church, women’s support groups, Cleansing Stream, and organized a divorce recovery program. Her goal is to see the body of Christ healed (individually and corporately) and walking in their God given destiny. Wendy ministers as a licensed pastor and a Restoring the Foundations Trainer and a Healing House Qualified Minister.
Wendy and Mike have three adult sons and seven grandchildren.
Pastor Joshua Freeman
Youth Ministry
Pastor Joshua Freeman has been involved in youth ministry at New Covenant Church for over seven years. Through faithful dedication in preaching the Word and cultivating student relationships,
is a place where students can receive regular ministry in prayers, the Word, worship from their own worship team, and lots of fellowship with other believing youth.
Joshua & Carolyn Freeman
Worship Ministry
Joshua and Carolyn Freeman have both been involved in music for most of their lives. Joshua toured with Living Praise out of CFNI Bible Institute before graduating, and Carolyn has ministered in music overseas as well as at home in the U.S. with the Family of Faith for several years. Both have a heart to see God’s glory revealed in corporate worship. Josh and Carolyn have three sons.
Joan Caldwell
Joan Caldwell has been on staff at New Covenant Church since 1999. She serves as Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor, Director of Special Events and Wedding Planner.
Joan and her husband of 33 years were founding members of New Covenant Church where Bill serves as a deacon. They have three daughters, who are all grown and following the Lord.
Joan has a Bachelors of Science Degree, a Masters Degree., and taught public school for eleven years. She is the leader of the Kadosh Adonai Dance ministry at New Covenant. Kadosh Adonai is Hebrew for “Holy unto the Lord.” Our heart is to draw God’s people closer to Him through worship so we can better walk in the holiness He intended for all of us. Joan has recently completed a year of study to become a licensed Minister of Dance. She has taught dance workshops in Georgia, Florida, and Alabama, and has had the privilege of teaching in the Dominican Republic on two different occasions. She had the honor of dancing at the Garden Tomb in Israel.
Sue Stanton
Sue has been a resident of Thomasville, Georgia since October 2001. She was born and raised in St Petersburg, Florida where she got her first calling into the children’s ministry. As she began volunteering to teach Sunday School classes as well as music and other jobs relating to her children’s ages, (She and her husband, Doug have four) God put a passion in her heart for the precious little ones. She opened up a Christian Family Day Care Home in 1998 and worked with toddlers from birth to age 4 for 3.5 years. During that time she received her CDA (Child Development Associates credential). She has received her certificate of completion in the Masters Commission Institute Bible Training here at New Covenant Church. Sue now says she is honored with the joy and privilege of directing the Children’s Ministry here at New Covenant.
